His main motivator for anything is curiosity. To know how things work- often taking it apart piece by piece and back again [ if still possible ]. Refuses and/or easily forgets about any information not aligned with his interests, though he has a very good memory for the things that do. He's often mercurial with ever changing tempers and detached in a sense that he doesn't seek the approval of society. Though he doesn't get attached easily nor actively seek to be everyone, he has bouts of sociability that saves him from being a total hikikomori. On the flippant side though, he's convinced that everything has a good side to it in an almost child-like way. He tends to make everything a joke, including himself or spout completely unrelated/glaringly obvious statements just to say something and steer the topic away from him or anything personal. Tends to get distracted easily. Can be totally disinterested in a topic, then completely passionate about the next thing if it captures his attention.

He was an only child and different. He reveled in it, loved and took joy in being curious in areas where other kids didn't bother to think about yet. As a kid he used to combine different fruit tree branches in an attempt to make a tree that bore enough fruit for a salad.
